June Session Highlights
At its June meeting, the Session took the following actions:

  • Received a positive financial report, indicating that giving is somewhat ahead of expectations, while expenses thus far are running somewhat below budget.
  • Received 2 new members, and approved the request for their son to be baptized;
  • Interviewed and approved for Confirmation six senior high students;
  • Approved the request of the Alder Street Learning Center board to amend the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the ASLC to eliminate the Church’s controlling position in the governance of this independent non-profit organization.

May Session Highlights

At its May meeting, the Session took the following actions:
• Heard news of a bequest from the estate of Donald Leonard, a former Associate Pastor, which will come to the benefit of FPC at its maturity in 2060.
• Received a positive financial report, indicating that giving is on track with projections.
• Reviewed plans for Rev. Bob Paul to devote study leave and vacation time to the completion of his doctoral dissertation, which is due to be submitted July 20.
• Approved a resolution to seek six nominees for the next class of elders, which will make for a 19 member Session in 2011, which is within the range allowed under our bylaws.
• Approved a mission project in support of Compassion International as part of the children’s summer program.

April Session Highlights
At its April meeting, the Session took the following actions:
• Received correspondence from members who appreciate the radio broadcast of worship services.
• Heard plans to establish a 12-month program calendar available to all committees and members.
• Received a positive financial report, indicating that giving is on track with projections.
• Reviewed a letter to the congregation presenting the goal of debt reduction on the existing garage loan, and approved it to be sent pending minor modifications.
• Approved formation of a “Visioning Group” to support the Session and congregation in studying issues of long-term importance to FPC.
