All women who are members of First Presbyterian Church are automatically members of Presbyterian Women’s Ministry, which is part of the larger national organization Presbyterian Women, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).Purpose of Presbyterian Women’s Ministry (PWM)
• Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves to:
• Nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
• Support the mission of the church worldwide in its efforts to assist women
• Work for justice and peace, especially for women and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
• Further, we commit ourselves to serve and support through prayer the members of our community of faith at First Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon

We invite you to explore the following groups to find one that fits your schedule and interests:

Open Circle is a loving, searching, praying community of women of all ages who want to deepen their relationship with God through Bible study, prayer, and discussion. The group meets Thursdays, 9:30-11 a.m., in Room 207 of the church Parish House, September through mid June.

Tuesday Evening Women’s Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month to share dinner, usually at a nearby restaurant. After dinner the group returns to the church for lively discussions of religious books and current topics.

Mystery Book Club meets at the church on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. to explore the works of various mystery writers.

Quilters meet each Friday morning in the Parish House Study. This group is comprised of women of all ages with a common interest in the art of quilting.
