February is “Inclusion Month” in the children’s ministry of FPC and you are invited to take part!
On February 12th we’ll be raising money for Harper’s Playground https://www.harpersplayground.org/
And the CHILDREN of our church have made a goal of raising $1000 to help build an inclusive playground at Marshall Park in Vancouver, Washington. If we meet our goal, we’ll earn our very own paver at the park (and we’ll plan a playdate in the spring to go see it!).
By participating, your kids will learn that they can make a positive difference in our community by simply sharing their time and skills! There are two ways you and your kids can participate:
- Can you provide some baked goods to auction off on the 12th?
- Do you have a kid(s) willing to play a SHORT game with grown-ups who will “Pay to Play” (my girls are bringing Candy Land) in coffee hour?
This fundraising event will occur on Sunday, February 12th right after the service (during coffee hour in Geneva Hall). Kids and grown-ups will both be encouraged to make any size donation (EVERYBODY is encouraged to participate). Your kids could simply bring coins from a piggy bank to donate!

Finally, please mark your calendar for Sunday, February 26th as well. Immediately after the service, we’ll be welcoming Cody Goldstein, Chief Play Officer of Harper’s Playground, who will be offering an educational event for ALL AGES that will inspire us to be more inclusive, playful people! What could be more Christ-like?
