What to Expect
In visiting First Presbyterian, you will find inspiring music, engaging preaching,
and a warm welcome.
We offer supportive childcare, faith development opportunities for all ages,
fellowship groups, and service opportunities.
Our Sunday worship service is at 10:30 am, with adult classes beginning at 9 am with childcare provided. On the first Sunday of the month when we celebrate communion, children in preschool and older remain in the worship service for these Family Sundays. On the remaining Sundays of the month, children in preschool though 5th grade are welcome to remain in worship after the children’s moment, or they may attend children’s music and Sunday School.
Free parking is available on Sundays in the church parking garage.
We hope you will come for an engaging service of worship, and experience the
beauty of the church’s sanctuary.
Church Membership – Take the “First Step”
If you are new to First Presbyterian Church, we understand that you have questions about Christian faith in general and the Presbyterian church in particular. To help address your questions, we offer “First Steps” classes several times a year, which are designed to explore the basics of Christian faith, the beliefs and practices of the Presbyterian church, and the mission and programs of First Presbyterian.
Attending these classes in no way obligates you to become a member of First Presbyterian, but you will have the opportunity to unite in membership after completing the class if you desire. Please contact the church office (503) 228-7331, to inqire about the next class.
First Presbyterian Church
has as its purpose to
and serve others (GPS)!
Worship at FPC is lively and engaging, with glorious, mostly classical music and thoughtful reflection on Scripture.
We extend a warm welcome all who come to worship, and hope you will find here a place to believe, a place to belong.
Members and new friends join in Salt Shaker dinners in people’s homes, young adults and families meet for activities, and Youth groups gather for lively meetings and retreats.
Ongoing Bible and Disciple study classes, as well as adult classes and timely forums provide a place to connect with others in this warm faith community.
Mission and Service
Transitional Youth program offers a dinner for young people on the streets monthly. We reach out through mission initiatives to the wider city and the world.
Retreat and Renewal
Menucha Retreat and Conference Center, located in the beautiful Columbia Gorge, serves as a ministry to enrich lives through hospitality, learning, reflection and renewal.
