Upcoming Fall Classes

Parables of God’s Love from Children’s Literature:  Children’s Literature can be an outstanding source of contemporary metaphors about God’s relationship to us and our relationships with each other.  Just as the Children’s sermon, captures and illuminates the “Big Idea” of the Sunday scripture — So too, children’s stories, can provide profound insights into the nature of God and God’s intentions for us.

In this seven-week course, the instructors will describe Christian understandings that can be drawn from several favorite children’s books.  Each class is designed to capture our imaginations, deepen our faith and help us more confidently pass stories of our faith on to the next generation.  We hope you can “zoom=in” for the whole series, but if you miss a class, don’t worry—-each class stands alone.

This course will be offered Sundays from NOON to 1:00 pm on ZOOM.  The link for the course is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82086707479  This same link will be used for all 7 classes.

September 19 & 26 and October 3 & 10: “The Gospel According to Frances”:  The first four classes will explore books by Russell Hoban—including Bedtime for Frances, Bread and Jam for Frances, A Birthday for Frances, and A Bargain for Frances.  Taught by Dale Hess and Fran Page
