A series of concerts offered by First Presbyterian Church of Portland
celebrating God’s gifts of creativity and imagination.

All concerts are offered free of charge, as gifts to the community.
Complimentary parking is available in FPC’s underground garage.
All concerts will be livestreamed.

Midwinter Chill

FPC music director Greg Homza and friends will share a program of reflective music and stories.
Works by Thad Fiscella, Keith Jarrett, Arvo Pärt, and others
are guaranteed to help lift your spirits if the gray skies have you feeling blue.

 

Sunday, March 19, 2023 | 2 pm

Mountain Meadowlark

“Scale the heights” of new musical experiences with the Meadowlark Trio and MT Duo
in a collaboration of mixed strings and wind instruments.
The concert will “range” through Classical to Contemporary musical periods.
Don’t take this concert for “granite” — it’s not to be missed!

 

Sunday, May 21, 2023 | 2 pm

Strings and Pipes

The season finale will feature violinist Brenda Brenner and organist Christopher Young,
both faculty members at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music,
in a lively and engaging concert of music for violin and organ.

Heavens/Heaven

Organist Katherine Burk performs a varied program of music inspired by images and ideas of what lies beyond our earthly realm.
Works by Erik Santos and Cecilia McDowall depict celestial bodies, while works by Nicolas de Grigny, Marcel Dupré,
and Olivier Messiaen serve as musical meditations on different aspects of the spiritual Heaven.
